Several years ago, Billy started pitching the idea of hitting "pause" on our professional lives and moving aboard a sailboat for awhile. Since neither of us had any experience sailing, it was a bit difficult to wrap our heads around. Eventually, and with some help from some very encouraging friends and family, Ariel warmed to the idea and we started planning.
The plan is to leave Boston in September 2026. We'll first head north to spend a month in Maine before turning around in search for warmer weather. Our route will be a combination of the ICW and open water, stopping frequently along the way to visit friends and towns along the Atlantic coast. From there, we hope to be in the Bahamas by Christmas and will continue to make our way south and east at whatever pace suits us. We'll turn around once we run out of money or get sick of each other, whichever comes first!
Dolphin Marina & Restaurant. August 2025, our first night spent away from our own mooring.
